Why bring the customer to the store when you can bring the store to the customer?

Via vending machines that take your order, receive and then give you your drone-delivered coffee, Shenzhen, China. Here come the coffee drones.

At least two of the marketing mix elements are critical here. (1) Place or physical distribution. (2) The brand must be strong enough to enable customers to wait 8 minutes for delivery. Branding, some say is Promotion, but I say it’s everything – the total experience generated by all the mix. However, suffice to say this won’t work (people won’t wait 8 mins) without a strong brand or perhaps, a complete absence of competition!

One question, why not deliver it to the customers directly wherever they are and via an app rather than a large clunky vending machine? H&S?

I assume the big box is 100% recyclable and was manufactured from other recycled materials?  I also assume there is a big recycling bin right beside the vending machine. And that drones will queue (quietly???) if there are a few dozen people waiting for their coffees?

Would you like drone coffee delivered to you?
